What the hell is going on???!!!!

Well, not only was Bob frustrated today, I'm having my own fair share of frustrations tonight with this blogger crap!!!! It should be simple...go to blogger dashboard and use your google account and sign in then post......Oh NOOOOO......I go to sign in and it never goes anywhere but back to the sign in page. I got the bright idea to click the HELP link. Yeah right, it was no help at all. I went to Fraidy's blog and commented (had to sign in before posting my comment) and low and behold, it signed me in!!!

Hopefully tomorrow things will be back to normal. If you don't see me post for a few days...you'll know I'm still having problems on here!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Hump Day

Well here it is Wednesday morning and if it weren't for my family members, I wouldn't have a thing to post about.

Seems my Daughter has bronchitis. She went to the clinic yesterday and that's the report she got with a prescription. My grandson is doing much better with his cough. I hardly hear it at all now.

Bob defenately has a fractured fibula. He has an orthopedic appointment this afternoon. the doctor sent him for xrays yesterday and the fracture was confirmed. Now we're hoping the fracture is low becasuse the doctor said if it's higher, they may need pins and screws to repair it. if it's low, a cast will do fine.

I on the other hand seem to be doing fine. (knocking on wood).
Now it's time to get things moving around here. A little someone is dragging her butt this morning.

***EDIT***
We now have highspeed cable RoadRunner!!!!!!!!!!!!! ****does the happy dance!!!****

Update

Isaac is doing fine. The doctor gave him a prescription cough medicine and said he'll be ok. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Heather is still hanging in there and hasn't had any increases in her contractions and is infact going to work today from 9am to 3pm. She's hoping that if she coughs hard enough her water will break. She's more than ready to go to the hospital and have this kid. That's about it for now around here.

Back in Maryland though, well that's another update. Seems a day or 2 after I left, they got 5 inches of snow overnight and Bob said it looked like a winter wonderland. Then it rained ontop of the snow and turned it all to slush. (I'm glad I missed out on that crap). Yesterday, Bob said it was 50 degrees and things were pretty messed up with the snow/slushy stuff. He was walking to his truck through the yard at the house he's been working on and lost his footing with his right foot then tried to over compansate with his left and it twisted underhim and he's pretty sure he broke his left ankle. I'm sure Bob has a very high tolerance to pain (way more than I have that's for sure) because he finished his day out and went home then propped it up lastnight with ice. Now he's positive he'll get it looked at today, but he has to get the plumber started at the job sight fist. I understand they are under a deadline this week with an inspector coming on Friday, but if it would have been me,I'd have been straight to the emergency room the second after I felt my ankle twist under me. I'm confident he'll get it looked at and get it taken care of. I haven't spoken with him yet this morning, so I don't know how he's feeling this morning. If I hadn't left a week early to come here and "wait" for a baby to decide it wants to be born, I'd have been there and seen what happened. He wasn't going to tell me because he didn't want me to come back just for that. (I would if Heather wasn't so close to going into labor). Call me goofy if you want to, I just like to be there and help take care of him when he's hurt or sick. I feel bad now that I'm not. I know he's a big boy and can get through this without me, but I still wish I was there.

Well I have to get off here now and make sure Deydra is eating her breakfast so she can go to school. After all, I'm here to help with the kids so I better do my job....hehehe.

That didn't last long.

Well, seems my Daughter hates dial-up way more than I do. She's had enough of this crap and called Time Warner Cable today and we will have RoadRunner installed tomorrow afternoon between 4pm and 6pm!!!! It's funny how these things irritate us into making decisions.

I'm sitting here with my Grand daughter while she does her homework and my Daughter is at the doctor's office with my Grandson. He has a horrible little cough and I told her I just thought she should be safe and have him checked out. With his history of getting sick and ending up in the hospital, she agreed. I'm hoping she comes back and the doctor says it's nothing to worry about.

I beleive when they return from the doctor's office, we are all going up to Sam's Club. Heather remembered some things she wanted to get while we were there the other day and couldn't remember.....but today we have a "list".....(Bob would be proud of me right now).

Well, seems like it's time for math flashcards as part of Deydra's homework, so it's time to shut this thing off.

Hmmmmmm.....

Well let's see......pretty much bored at the moment. The weather was supposed to be really crappy. It rained overnight and the roads were supposed to be icy. They may have been, but by the time we all decided to venture out, they were pretty clear, just wet. Heather and I took the kids up to Cleveland to the Zoo. Actually, it was the Rain Forest. They enjoyed it very much. It was cute to see Isaac react to seeing the different animals and the fish and turle aquariums. I took some photos, but don't have them ready to post on here. I probably can't post on here with dial-up anyway without getting frustrated. Heather has zero patience with this AOL and says she's calling Warner Cable to get Roadrunner hooked up. I hope she does.

I'm making a boneless/skinless turkey breast roast for dinner. Finally something Heather agrees to eat. I think a side of green beans and mushrooms and white rice sounds good too. I wonder what Bob is fixing for himself for dinner tonight??

I'm glad I came here when I did to be with the kids, but I miss being home too. It will be nice while Heather is in the hospital because it will be quiet around here. She keeps that TV so loud!! It drives me crazy. It's like living with my Mom in that aspect. She says she can't hear it over the furnace when it comes on. Whatever!! (yeah the furnace blower is louder than I'd like, but you can still hear the tv.)

Hmmmm...an hour and 20 minutes before dinner is ready.....and there's nothing much to do. Think I'll play Spongebob monopoly with Deydra and try not to beat her tonight....or just go work on that afghan I'm crocheting for the new baby. Probably end up doing both.

OMG!!!!.....I'm using DIAL-UP!!!!!

Hey Hey from Ohio.............I'm at my daughter's house and just got her computer hooked up and online with AOL. I HATE DIAL-UP!! I'm glad to be on here though. Now I can check my banking account and email again. (and update on here too).

Speaking of updating...have you noticed the weight loss???? Another 2 pounds this week!!! (doing the happy dance!!) I've now lost 14 pounds since January 5th and I can't be happier. Just this morning I was walking on the treadmill and had sweat dripping from my face and my grand daughter brought me a towel and said ...ewwww. It feels good to keep up on my workouts. I'm still keeping up with my eating too. It feels so normal now to be eating right that the thought of Taco Bell or McDonald's makes me want to hurl.

No baby yet. Heather can't wait..I know she's tired of carrying the baby. I'll be sure to make an announcement when the baby arrives with ALL the details.

Time to hop off here now to keep the phone line open....sheesh.

The time has come

I have made the decsion to leave early and go back to Ohio. I'm leaving tomorrow (Wednesday Feb.21st) since Heather could really go anytime now. Since her Doctor's appointment is Thursday, I'll be there and can go with her so if the doctor makes the decsion to send her upstairs to delivery, she won't have to worry about me getting there and helping with things. This way also, I can take my time driving and won't feel rushed. I've been ticket free for many years now and accident free for nearly 4 years and I intend to do my best to keep it that way. I'm really liking where my insurance rates have dropped to and don't want to see that increase just because I was trying to rush to get back before I missed the delivery. Hopefully the baby doesn't change it's mind and decide to wait longer to come out. I'll try to get to the Library and use their computers to check in. More than likely Bob will post on here in my absense.

I just came home from getting all my laundry done and now it's time to finally get that suitcase packed. If all goes according to my plan, I'd like to be on the road no later than 9am. Traffic around here is horrible even when you ae going away from the DC area. That should get me back to Canton between 3 or 4pm. I'm hoping the Pennsylvania roads are all good and the ones in N.E. Ohio. I hate driving in snow and slushy stuff.

I might hop on here in the morning for a few minutes if I feel I have time. You all take care and I'll be sure to stop in when I can.

Monday...Monday.....

It's Monday and not alot is happening around here. I had a good weekend so I really can't complain that it's Monday and the start of a new week. It gets me closer to the time of me leaving for Ohio if nothing else. I made a checklist for myself of things I want to be sure not to forget to take and I was joking with Bob that I think I need a mini U-Hual now.

I had a great workout this morning with the TV. We have comcast cable and they have ON DEMAND TV veiwing with a great tv exercise program. I've been switching back and forth between a 2 mile walking workout and an abs workout. The thing I like best about this weightloss program I'm on is that it's my own idea and I'm doing for me. I feel better and when I stand infront of the mirror, I'm not horrified with the body of the person staring back at me. I love to see that I'm getting a shapely waistline again. It not only feels good but I like how I look now.

I guess that's enough drabbling on about nothing for today. Hope everyone out there has a great day!!

Photo Scavenger Hunt

Today's theme is "Antique". I was having a hard time trying to figure out where I could find something antique to photograph. It wasn't until this morning when I woke up that I remembered my Dad's old camera. He purchased this camera over in Germany when he was in WWII. That makes this camera atleast 60 years old. It's an 85mm Ventura V 66 and it says on the camera that it's made in Germany (US zone). He purchased it at the Army PX store. It's really cool to have this now. It's not in the greatest shape and Dad stopped using it many years ago when us kids were little. He always said that according like shutter had a pin hole in it and let light get on the photos.

It's Friday..............

Finally after 2 weeks with no weight loss, I stepped on the scales this morning with a very big surprise. I've lost 3 pounds this past week!!! It's not a huge number, but I feel so much better knowing I'm still on track. It's nice to see that I've lost 12 pounds total so far. Now I'm not so down about all that I'm doing. Seeing the results on the scales, makes me more energized to keep at it.

I have some other news too. My daughter called me yesterday after her doctor's appointment. Seems she's now starting to dilate (sp). They weren't going to "exam" her until the 22nd but she told them about the increase in her contractions at work and having to pee more often. The doctor said that when he examines her next week, he may just send her upstairs. Sooo, I may be heading off to Ohio sooner than we anticipate. Heather and I both knew they were wrong about her due date being March 12th. There's no way she'll hamg on that long. I was going to pack my suitcase lastnight, but didn't get around to it. Guess I better get that done before I'm out of time. I just hope and pray that by the time I'm ready to drive back to Ohio, the roads in Pennsylvania are clear and safe to drive on. I don't want the trip to take any longer than normal 6 hours it takes to get there. Regardless, I'll take my time so that I get there safely.

Now it's time to go see what's in store for me today. I'm pretty sure I'm going to work in the basement since the electrican stopped by yesterday to run more wires. I think Bob & I will be framing in the ceiling.

Hope all who stop by here, have a wonderful day.

Thursday, February 15, 2007

Time is flying by......

In just 2 weeks from today I'll be heading back to Ohio. I haven't been there since Christmas, but it seems like I was just there. I spoke to my grand daughter on the phone the other day and she's so excited that the new baby will be here soon. I'm looking forward to participating again, but I certainly can't see how my Daughter is going to manage having 3 kids now with one the middle one still in diapers. She has no choice but to make it and I'm sure she'll do a fantastic job.

It will be nice to have some time away from here I guess since the basement project I've been working on is coming to a stand still. He's getting recessed lights for us to put in and even though they are ordered, it will take about 5 to 6 weeks before they arrive. All the wiring still needs to be completed and the sound guys for the home entertainment system have to come do their own set of wiring. That all has to be done before I can finish insulating. I'll miss the income each week that I have been getting, but atleast I have something beneficial to do while the waiting period is going on.

My Son is coming here in May over Mother's Day weekend and before you know it, that will be here. I say it every year and it's really true, that the years are flying by faster and faster all the time. Sheesh, before you know it, it will be Christmas again!!

Valentine's Day Ice Storm in Maryland

It really doesn't look that bad. I went out to get some pictures of icy things and thought it was funny that my feet weren't making any foot prints right away. Funny to be standing ontop of the snow. Our neighbors acroos the street from us struggled a bit to get their car out of the driveway. It was obvious that the husband had to go somewhere today. It's very icy and lots of things are closed around here. I was surprised to see as much snow as we have. It's not that much and it never gets to be much around here which is why I'm enjoying being here in the winter. Here's some photos of what our cars and parts of the yard look like this morning.

I was just informed that later this afternon Bob & I will more than likely have to venture out. Seems we have an appointment for Brinks Home Security to come by his Brother's house to re-route some lines in the basement so we can finish framing it in. We're waiting on a return call from his Brother to see if Brinks is keeping the appointment. (His Brother is going in to work and won't be home for them if the still come out).

I just heard on the morning news that they are arresting people in Ohio for being out on the roads. Guess I'll call my daughter and Mom and see how bad things are in their area.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

I'm starting to not like Friday's

I'm not even sure why I chose Friday's as my weigh in day, but it is and I dread it each week. I have been increasing my exercise workouts and trust me my body feels it. It hurts all over but in a good way. I have not increased my food intake at all. I'm still eating small portions and those portions are all good healthy foods. So why haven't I lost any weight this week? I'm still at 186 lbs. It's frustrating and puts me in a slump for awhile. I only have 20 more days (or less) before I leave here and go back to Ohio. I'm going to be very busy while I'm there taking care of the grand kids and running my Mother around (I'm sure). I want to be able to stick with my eating habits I've established and get in my exercises. I'd love to see some weight loss before I leave here. Certainly in 3 weeks I'll loose something! On the 5th of each month, I take photos of myself. 3 views.....front, side and back. In these photos from January to February (with only a 9 lbs weight loss) there is a great deal of differnce and Bob and I can see where I've lost those 9 lbs. I want March 5th's photos to look even better than February's photos look. Am I too hard on myself? Probably. I know that when you're older it's harder to loose weight, but sheesh I should be seeing atleast a small amount of weight loss each week instead of zero! I can see a big difference in the way my belly is (from under my boobs to my pelvis area) from the exercises. I'm thinking that my body is now trying to tone up before some weight leaves. Well, regardless of what it's doing, I need to see my results on the scales as well as in the photos. When this is all done and over with and I've reached my goal, I'll share some of the photos.

For now though, I have to take a deep breath and relax and keep doing what I'm doing and try not to be so hard on myself.

New Ticker Tracker

It's time to start tracking the days until I leave to go back to Ohio to be there for my Daughter when the new baby is born. The doctors still have her due date as March 12th, but Heather and I both beleive they are way off base on this one. She's thinking perhaps the 3rd or 5th and I have to agree with her. The baby is already in position and has dropped. She's going to the doctor's every Thursday now. She's been having contractions at work too. We don't know if the baby is a boy or a girl since it wouldn't cooperate on her last ultrsound. She wants a boy and I really don't care what sex it is, I'm just hoping for a really healthy baby. I still don't know how she's going to make it with 3 kids and being a single working Mom, but she's determined to do the best she can. She's only going back to work part time and then going to school too. (She still hasn't decided on a subject yet). She has her mind set to get ahead in life and get off of Government Assistance. This is a fabulous goal and I'm proud of her for making it.

Once I leave for Ohio, I won't have computer access. Heather never got the internet hooked up when I moved here. (she has my old computer) Perhaps Bob will post something here for me while I'm gone once Heather has the baby.

I went shopping some today and bought the new baby some things. I was feeling bad since I'm grandma and I haven't gotten her a thing yet. Now I don't feel as bad.

I still have 3 weeks before I leave....(unless she goes in earlier than we think!).

So who says I know how to pick teams

Rex Grossman looked like a high school quarterback and if I had any indication how badly he's played all year, I would have stayed rooting for the Colts (even if it was the team Bob wanted to win). Payton Manning sure did look great lastnight. The whole first half of that game was good. The rain was defenately giving both teams a hard time. Manning certainly knew how to work through it though and his teammates worked very well with him. I must say that I compared the Bears to the Clevelnad Browns lastnight. They simply SUCKED!!! I wasn't impressed with the new commercials that much either. There were a few that made me laugh, like the "beard comb over" and the 2 apes plotting to take over the beer man, but other than that, I can't remember a really good one. I'm just glad it's over for now.

Bob goes back to the doctor today to get his toe loooked at. It is looking much better and he says it feels way better than it has been feeling. I'm still hoping the doctor doesn't order a foot xray though. Guess we'll find out soon enough since his appointment is at 8:45am. I better get off of here and get ready to go.

Have a great Monday!

I need a new post on here

1st .....let me apologize for the gross photo yesterday.....(don't scroll unless you like gross things).

I really don't have much to talk about today, I just needed something different on here so I don't scare anyone way.

Well, today is the big game day. SUPERBOWL!!!! I'm hoping the Chicago Bears win. I'm pretty sure Bob wants the COLTS to win. (it really makes no difference to me at all, I just HAVE to root for the oposing team...(especially after he did the CHOMPING thing during the Ohio State game a month ago). I see and hear that football highlights are on now. I have to keep myself occupied doing something until the actual game comes on at 6pm. I just can't sit here and watch that much football all day long. He can if he wants to..I don't care. It's really his only day to sit around be lazy since he's always working and staying busy. Football is his thing and that's fine. I am glad that in a little while we are going grocery shopping. It's really starting to look like Mother Hubbard in our kitchen.

If it's not too cold today, I'll probably go for a walk. I know I'm not going for an hour walk though. This is the time of year that my sinuses play havoc on me. I don't like being out in the cold for too long. (or I'm just getting old and lazy). I have to get back into exercising too. Last week was horrible with me not feeling good and helping Bob get better. I lost the 2 pounds I gained back so now I'm back down to having lost 9 pounds. That's not where I wanted to be in just one month, but I suppose taking it slow is a good thing.

Well, I hear Bob getting ready to go, so I better get off this computer and get dressed.

GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Photo Scavenger Hunt

I wasn't sure what I was going to come up with for this week's theme....GROSS...but with the help of Bob's hurt toe, it was a no brainer. (He was a good sport about letting me blog about it).
Believe it or not, this was taken after the doctor's visit yesterday afternoon. The doctor lanced the infected "bubble" around the cuticle and gave him some anitbiotics and wants to see him again 1st thing Monday morning. Hopefully it will look better by then or he may order a foot xray to see if there could be a bone infection. Bob is a carpenter and always wears steel toes boots and over the years has used this foot for his "kicking" foot to line things up (etc, etc.). He admits that this poor toe is the victim of years of "carpenter abuse". We still don't know what caused the infection. It's not an ingrown toenail and nothing fell on it and no one stepped on it. ??????? I just hope by Monday it's all better.

What a week so far

It all started over the weekend. Bob and I have been taking turns being sick. I had a pretty bad chest cold that was kicking my ass....(still have some congestion but atleast I'm functioning now) and Bob has been battling evening fevers. For 3 nights in a row his fever was breaking during the night...(sweating so badly that his entire body was wet ). He was fine the night before last with no fever what so ever so he went to work yesterday. He had another fever early evening yesterday that only reached 102.1. I looked fevers up on WebMD and it says that most adults can tolerate fevers up to 104 but that 105 is dangerous. (something I disagree with). Well, I was happy lastnight when his fever left without a sweatout this time and so far this morning, he seems ok. Now if we could just figure out why his right big toe is swollen and puffy and painfull for him to walk on. I had him soak his foot lastnight in Epsom salt and the pain left. I wrapped his toes in guaze and put a sock on it so he could sleep. He kept it elevated all night too. He just cut the steel toe plate out of an old pair of work boots so he could get a shoe on and go to work without pain in his foot. Men.....I'd love to take him to a doctor, but well, you know how it goes.....maybe one day he'll let me take him. I'll give him credit though...he was a good patient lastnight and let me take care of him. He normally doesn't like fussed over at all. As for me....I'll be happy when this aggrivating cough leaves my body!! I thought it was pretty much gone until I woke up at 1am coughing my lungs out. Doctor.....um, no not for me either I guess. I get this stuff alot with my sinuses. I have no fevers and it's not Bronchitis or anything like that. I'm positive it will go away soon enough. The expectorant I bought has helped so my coughs are atleast productive. Hopefully Bob and I will be back to normal soon.

Oh wait...we never were normal.....so I'm just hoping for healthy soon....hehehe.
