I didn't get a chance to weigh myself yesterday, but I did today and have lost 2 more pounds!!!! This isn't just your run of the mill 2 pounds...this my friends marks the final 20 pounds that I gained when I moved to Maryland!!! It took me 4 months to gain it and only 3 to take it off!!! At this rate, by the summer time, I'll be right where I want to be. In case you can tell, I'm quite happy with my weight loss results.

why we love children
I recieved this in an email this morning and I thought it was really cute and wanted to share it.
1) NUDITY
I was driving with my three young children one warm summer evening
When a woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved. She was
Stark naked! As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my 5-year-old shout
From the back seat, "Mom, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!"
2) OPINIONS
On the first day of school, a first-grader handed his teacher a note
From his mother. The note read, "The opinions expressed by this child are
Not necessarily those of his parents."
3) KETCHUP
A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her
Struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter to answer the
Phone. "Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's
Hitting the bottle"
4) MORE NUDITY
A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's
Locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies
Grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in amazement
And then asked, "What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a little boy
Before?"
5) POLICE # 1
While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I
Was interrupted by a little girl about 6 years old. Looking up and down at
My uniform, she asked, "Are you a policeman?"
"Yes," I answered and continued writing the report.
"My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is
That right?"
"Yes, that's right," I told her.
"Well, then," she said as she extended her foot toward me, "would you
Please tie my shoe?"
6) POLICE # 2
It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the
Station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and
I saw a little boy staring in at me. "Is that a dog you got back there?" heasked
"It sure is," I replied
Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van.
Finally he said, "What'd he do?"
7) ELDERLY
While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly
Shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. She
Was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age,
Particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs. One day I found her
Staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for
The inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, "The
Tooth fairy will never believe this!"
8) DRESS-UP
A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party. When she
Saw her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, "Daddy, you shouldn't wear that
Suit."
"And why not, darling?"
"You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning. "
9) DEATH
While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister
Heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt.
Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin.
Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small
Box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of
The deceased. The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers
And with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father
Always said: "Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the
Hole he goooes."
10) SCHOOL
A little girl had just finished her first week of school. "I'm just
Wasting my time," she said to her mother. "I can't read, I can't write and
They won't let me talk!"
11) BIBLE
A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he
Fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible.
He picked up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that
Had been pressed in between the pages.
"Mama, look what I found," the boy called out.
"What have you got there, dear?"
With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, "I think
it's Adam's underwear!"

Photos I've been wanting to share.................
Now that Bob is here and brought me my camera cord, I was able to upload all the photos I've taken since I've been here. Relax, I'm not sharing all of them. I did want to show you the new vehicle my daughter is now driving and what she traded in on it. You'll see why I was worried about her driving the kids around that thing. The only other thing I wanted to mention today is that I'VE LOST 2 MORE POUNDS!!!!

Back home
My daughter and new granddaughter were released from the hospital yesterday. They are back home and resting. It's amazing to me how they ship you out of the hospital so soon anymore. She's doing well, just a bit sore and isn't allowed to lift more than the baby atleast for the first week. No driving for 2 weeks. I'm really serious about leaving before the 2 weeks are up. I need to get back to Maryland and back to work on the basement project. I need to put money back into my checking account that I've spent while being here. Since the baby came way later than any of us thought she would, I've been here way longer than anticipated. I may stay until April 3rd or 4th, but then I have to get back. Even if that means asking my ex-inlaws to help my daughter out for the last few days of the 2 week no driving period. The only thing needed is to get my granddaughter back and forth to school. (I seriously believe that my daughter will be fine to drive by then but we'll see).
Bob is coming here today!!!!! He should be arriving around noon and I can't wait to see him!! He and I are taking the 2 older kids out of the house today to give my daughter some much needed quiet so she can rest. My ex-inlaws already told me that they would watch the kids for a few hours on Sunday so Bob and I could go do something without the kids so that I can have a MUCH NEEDED BREAK too!!! It's nice that I'm on really good speaking terms with my ex-inlaws. My mother-in-law and I have nearly always gotten along. (except during the divorce but that was ages ago and my ex has been passed away now for 7 yrs). ANYWAY.....I'm excitied that I'm going to have a good weekend!!!
Hope you all have a great weekend too.

She has a name......
Kyah Bree Armstrong (pronounced Ki - yah).
My daughter likes to have unique names for the kids. I told her early on when she was trying to come up with my 1st grandchild's name, that they were her kids and she could name them Mortimoresnerd and I'd just have to get used to it. My parents had no influence in naming my kids. The really cool part about all my grandkid's names, is that I did indeed get to have some input and help in the selection process. With her 1st child, she wanted Ines (pronounced Inez) for her middle name and couldn't come up with a 1st name for her. I helped her come up with Deydra (pronounced day - dra) and the spelling. I always liked the way Susan Dey's (teenager from the partridge family) last name was spelled and pronounce so I suggested it to her and she liked it. That's how Deydra Ines came about. With her 2nd child, she wanted a very different and unique middle name for him. (I don't like it but it's not my kid). I helped her pick out Isaac and she chose Tavias (like Octavias) for his middle name. She wanted Kya but I thought it looked better with the "h" on the end and after we wrote it out with the entire name, she liked it that way too.
So there you have it. The grandkids all have official names now.

Well..........tomorrow is the day!!!!
We had the doctor's appointment this morning (which took freakin forever!!!) and he told her to be at the hospital at 7:30am and he'll have her induced. When she came out of the office with another appointment scheduled I was like...."ARE YOU SERIOUS???!!!!" She laughed and showed it to me then I saw what it was for. Doc said the baby is ready but her body is being stubborn. She is relieved and to tell you the truth, so I am. If any of you understand being induced, it could take hours after she gets the shot of potossin. I was hoping that with this pregnancy, she wouldn't need to be induced. She has had to be with her other 2. Guess maybe the doctor is correct in stating that she has a stubborn body. This will be her last one. She called the doctor's office yesterday to see what she needs to do to schedule to have her tubes tied.
I'll be gone from here all day tomorrow until late into the evening so that I can be in the delivery room with my daughter. I'm so hoping that I get to cut the cord with this one like I did with my grandson. It's so different being in there and NOT being the one giving birth. I love the entire experience. I'll post later tomorrow, now matter what time I get home, so that everyone knows ALL the info. At this point, we don't even know if the baby is a boy or a girl.
Stay tuned.................................................

Wonder what today will bring..........
So far this morning, it's like all the rest I've had since I've been here. Waiting on the "Princess" to eat so I can fix her hair for school. She's stalling this morning because she doesn't like the egg sandwhich I made her..(mom's instructions).
We thought for sure on Saturday late afternoon that we'd be going to the hospital. My daughter was having contractions and back pain. After sitting with a heating pad for 45 minutes, she felt better and everything stopped. Guess we'll see what happens today if anything. My guess is she'll make it to her doctor's appointment tomorrow and at that time the doctor will send her on up to the delivery ward. Once that happens my Bob will be making his trip this way. I'm sure he'll be stopping in PA first to see his Mom so that by the time he gets here, my daughter and the baby will be back home. I'm just anxious to see him. I've been gone nearly a month already and that's almost longer than I was thinking I was going to be.
Well, I need to go motivate a little girl so she's not late for school..I'll update when things happen.

Dog Food Recall
I just saw this on the news this morning. I certainly hope all the readers out there haven't fed their animals any of this food. Check this out. I don't have my dog anymore but my son does and I have to call him to see what he's feeding him. I'm positive though that it's not any of this stuff because of the dog's allergies. He never eats canned food or the food in the pouches. Anyway, check out the link and make sure all your loved pets are safe with the food you're feeding them.
I don't have a snazzy St. Patrick's Day post, but I do hope that any and all of you out there that might be celebrating this day, that you are safe and please don't drink and drive.

Friday Update
Don't get too excited....nothing new to report.
The weight loss tracker doesn't get to move today, but I'm not upset by that. I'm always pleased to not have to move it in the wrong direction. No weight loss one week is fine. (I can say that now knowing I'm still in the right direction). I've actually been loosing the weight in almost the exact time frame it took me to put it on in the first place. (That has to be good doesn't it?) I realize that with everyone telling me that to loose the weight too fast, you're more inclined to gain it back, that I'm finally comfortable with just 2 or 3 pounds in a week. I've been told that muscle weighs more than fat and since I've been exercising more, perhaps that's why some weeks I don't loose any and then loose 2 or 3 the next week. The main thing for me is that I feel good about myself and that is really important.
My daughter is at work again today. No contractions for her in about a week now. She did say that the baby has settled down and is hardly active at all. That is a good sign the baby is ready. Maybe Barman was right that she was waiting for St. Patrick's Day!!! As much as I like St. Patty's Day, I would NOT like that to be my birthday. I know my Daughter's is the day before Valentine's Day and she hates red and never liked Valentine's Day....(guess as a new parent back then I shouldn't have had her birthday with a Valentine theme)...live and learn.
Did I mention that in May, my son is coming up from Jacksonville, Florida to see me? Well, in case I did or didn't, I'm mentioning it now. I bought him a plane ticket to come to Maryland for his birthday. (He'll be 26 this year!!!!...he's my youngest) It just so happens that his birthday is on a Tuesday so I picked the weekend before for him to come.....is it my fault that same weekend just happens to be Mother's Day weekend!!!??? hehehehe It's going to be nice to be able to give him a nice Birthday while giving myself a nice Mother's Day present.
All this makes it feel like this year is flying by already and really, it's only March. I guess the years never slow down anymore do they.

Ohio weather SUCKS........................
Yeah, I knew it was coming. I just hoped they were wrong. After all they are weathermen. It was so nice the past few days being in the lower 70's with the sun shinning. It rained nearly all day yesterday and lastnight. Today, we have freezing rain and snow. I took my granddaughter to school this morning and it was only 28º and the roads were pretty slick in spots. Naturally the salt trucks were out in full force spraying that stuff all over the roads. My poor Maryland car is getting polluted with road salt!! It's so yucky out there right now. We are only going to have a high of about 41º today. My granddaughter is so sweet. I was complaining about the weather and she says to me..."Mom-Mom, it's good for all the spring flowers." I just shut up at that point. The wisdom of a 6 yr old brings us back to reality in no time. I called Bob on the way back here and he said it sounds like a great day to have a baby. Now if only the baby thought so too and came out today...that would be great.

Well...............let's see.........
Yesterday was the 12th...that was the official due date for baby. This morning my Daughter had an appointment and the doctor told her that IF she makes it to next Tuesday, he'll order an ultra sound and if there is nothing to indicate a "problem", he'll send her upstairs and break her water............sheesh!!
We had been having a problem with this computer "freezing up" so I took it back to the repair guys that reformatted the hard drive and re-installed windows. They ran a diagnostic test on it and (go figure), it came back with negative problems. Meaning, they couldn't duplicate the problem. He did tell us that occasionally a USB port could be the cause. He said that if it continues, she should consider purchasing a new mouse. Well, she decided that if it happens again, she'll just do what we've been doing which is rebooting the computer. That is until she can't stand messing with it just to use it.
My Daughter bought my Granddaughter some roller skates and a helmet with knee and elbow pads. She was practicing in the kitchen last night and today since it was 68º here today, we let her go outside on the sidewalk. Little did we realize the sidewalk "dips" slightly and she was having great trouble staying on her feet. Here's just one photo from my cell phone until I get more uploaded.
Now to go visiting and catch up on other blogs.

Just another Manic Monday......
So okay, there's nothing manic about this Monday (Yet), it's just a line from a song than ran through my head just now.
This has been my morning so far...........
A.) shut the alarm off that rudely woke myself and my Grand daughter up at 6:44am.
B.) shuttled my sleepyhead Grand daughter into the bathroom for her morning routine while I got dressed in the bedroom.
C.) met her downstairs and made her oatmeal for breakfast.
D.) kept reminding her to put her shoes on and stop staring blankly across the room (an everyday occurance with her).
E.) took the laundry out of the washer and put into the dryer
F.) braided her hair for school
G.) left the house at 7:45am to shuttle her to school.
H.) called and talked to Bob on my way back to this apartment.
I.) chatted with my daughter for a little bit until she put my grandson back to bed (he was such a grouch!!) and she never came back downstairs because she herself went back to bed.
J.) mixed up a batch of apple cinnamon muffins and put in the oven.
K.) finally made the meatloaf for dinner later that I was going to make 2 days ago (my daughter has been craving it)...baked that when the muffins were done.
L.) cooked myself some scrambled eggs and turkey sausage
M.) loaded the dishwasher
N.) watched Regis and Kelly (out of sheer boredom).
O.) ate a few fesh warm muffins
P.) took the clothes out of the dryer and will fold them when I'm done posting this.
I was going to get my morning workout in, BUT, yesterday my daughter broke the faucet off the tub and we can't turn the water on for a bath or a shower....(thank goodness I go my shower in before that happened). I won't work out and get all sweaty and NOT be able to shower when I'm done. She has been trying to get ahold of the maintenance for this complex but the line has been busy so far this morning. They better get out here soon and fix it.
I really don't have an agenda for today or for any day for that matter. Just playing the waiting game with the baby situation and trying not to be too far away from my daughter (just incase). It's offical........I'M BORED OUT OF MY MIND AND READY TO GO BACK HOME TO MARYLAND!!!! Like I always tell Bob....It is what it is and I'm making the best of it.
So, that's my morning so far (and pretty typical since I've been here) and I'm not too sure what the rest of my day will bring me. I hope you all have a great Monday.

Spring Forward.....
For those of you out there that participate in the time change, I hope you all remembered to do that last night before going to bed. It's apparent all the hoopla over whether or not the cell phones and computers would automatically change over was just that...Hoopla. My cell and the pc changed all by themselves and I didn't have to do a thing. It did seem weird to wake up and the alarm clock in my Granddaughter's room said 7am and my cell said 8am. There is nothing more apparent than that, that you just lost an hour of your day!!
Now to try to get an exercise routine in before everyone else around here gets up...lazybones!!

Just some babble
I really don't have much to gab about this morning. My Granddaughter and I will be spending the day together while my Daughter is at work for yet another day. We both have given up verbalizing our hopes that the baby will come each and everyday. That baby will arrive when it's good and ready.
Fraidy was saying that she didn't know what an air cast was. I found one online for her to see. I asked Bob if this is the one he's wearing. So, Fraidy, take a look at this and you'll get the idea.
I usually post a photo for the Scavenger Hunt on Saturday's, but since I forgot my camera cord, I won't be posting any photos while I'm staying at my daughter's apartment. Please feel free to click on the Photo hunt blogroll and check out the photos that other's have posted.
I hope you all have a great weekend and I'll be sure to post any updates as they occur!

Wow...it's Friday already........
Friday's don't really mean that much to me, I'm just amazed that another week has gone by and NO BABY!!!! It is however my weigh in day. I can't do that though until I go over to my Mom's house. My Daughter doesn't own a scale. I'm not worried about stepping on it this week though. I snuck a peek on Wednesday and was happy that day so I'm positive I'll be happy later on this morning when I get my regular weekly weigh in completed. Now the only other thing that will make this a great Friday is if THAT BABY COMES ANYTIME TODAY!!!
I did get to have an enjoyable day yesterday. Since my Daughter worked until 8pm last night, the kids were in daycare until she picked them up. I took my Mom the the movies yesterday. I love going to the $1 movie. We saw "A night at the Museum" with Ben Stiller. It was a really good movie. I took my Mom to the hair salon where my Daughter works so she could get her hair cut. I got my eyebrows waxed as well. It was good to be out and have something good done without having to worry about the kids or if we have to go to the hospital. It was even nice to have some quiet time to myself around the apartment for about 2 and 1/2 hours until they all came home. Today I'll have the entire day to myself and not sure what to do, but I'm sure I'll find something.
Guess that's all I have to post about this morning until I get my weight loss tracker updated.
*****UPDATE*****(4:45pm)
DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........................Check out the weight loss ticker tracker..179!!! I feel great about that number. I'm still exercising, but not as often as I was because the kids are all around most of the time and it's harder to have the "room" I need. It seems to be working for me though and I'm so geared up to continue on this quest for good healthy eating habits.
Barman said I should update on how Bob is. He's actually doing very well. He has an air cast on his leg. His fracture was at the bottom of the Fibula right where it goes into the ankle. He's pretty lucky he didn't injure his ankle bones. He returns to the doctor on Thursday morning and will find out then, how much longer he will be required to wear the air cast. The doctor initially said he'd have to have it on for up to 6 weeks. Bob is planning a weekend trip here once the baby is born. (Another reason I wish that little bundle would make an appearance).

No baby yet!!!!
I took the day off from posting yesterday. I tried to spend the day with my Mom but only managed to take her to the grocery store. My Daughter called me and told me that I needed to pick up my Granddaughter from school because she was throwing up. Turns out she was fine about 1/2 an hour after being home.....why does that always happen??? She was a bit pale and had a tiny fever and did spit up some after I brought her here. I personally think it's because they had indoor recess after lunch and she bounced around too much. Who knows?
Still no baby. My Daughter went to work yesterday from 9 to 3 and works again today from 12 to 8pm!!! Her worse nightmare is that her water will break while doing someone's highlights. She said she had a dream that's how it happened. If she keeps going to work, it could very well happen that way. I'll be sure to post on here when the "event" happens, so stay tuned.

Keep your fingers crossed...............
We're leaving in a few minutes to take my Granddaughter to school then it's off to the doctor and we're hoping he just sends her upstairs to the delivery ward!!! The thing is...at the moment, she doesn't even appear to be in any "labor". She's just having the same annoying contractions she's been having all week since I've been here.
So I'll post later with an update no matter what the news is.
*****UPDATE***** (10:15am)
The doctor said the baby's head is 1/2 an inch from being in the pelvis so he sent her on her way. She asked if he could just induce her and he said no because that would put undo stress on the baby and could cause Heather to "tear" much more than neccessary so she should just wait it out. The doctor told her that the last time she delivered he induced her because her B/P was too high. Since she's fine this time, he's waiting on nature to take it's course. He did tell her that it could be as soon as 10 hours from now or a few days. She has another appointment scheduled for the 13th but he doubts she'll make it. I have one grumpy pregnant woman on my hands at the moment. Send lots of "labor vibes" this way please!!!!!

What a day
Let me first say....NO BABY YET!!!!
We took my Granddaughter to school this morning then went on up to the car dealership so my Daughter could see if they would work with her on purchasing a new vehicle. She found an awesome Jeep Liberty on line that she wanted, but they sold that one. Long story short, they did in deed work with her and she is now driving a 2003 Dodge Durango. There is seating capacity for 8 people and has plenty of storage. Now that she has 2 car seats and is getting a booster seat for my Granddaughter, she needs the extra space. I'm glad to see her get rid of the broken down Dodge Neon she's been driving around for the past 6 years. She said the stress of the buying ordeal made her a nervous wreck and hopes that alone will make her go into labor. (That remains to be seen.) We were at the dealership most of the morning and it's good to have that all done and over with and back home for the day. I'll get soem photos of her new ride posted soon. (I forgot to pack my cord that plugs the camera into the PC to upload the photos.)
Now to go relax and hope for a delivery later!

Oh well...............
The only thing that happened around here last night was that it snowed again and is still snowing. No baby....the lunar eclipse had "0" effect on whether that baby was coming or not. Can you believe my daughter is going into work today. Yep, she works from 11am to 5pm!!! She came home yesterday and said she was mad because she didn't have one contraction all day at work. She was so hoping she would go into labor last night.
I'm enjoying being here and taking care of the kids. Once the baby is here, I'll be depended on even more. I'll have to drive my Granddaughter to school everyday and pick her back up since my Daughter won't be allowed to drive for 2 weeks. (That's the way it was with her first 2 deliveries). I don't mind though, it gives me something important to do.
Guess for now though, it's time to get off of here and get my Granddaughter and me some breakfast. Hopefully today is the day!!!

When will this baby come????
We thought for sure the baby was coming out yesterday. Heather wanted me to drive her to a few different stores yesterday afternoon and while we were out, she was experiencing several contractions. She decided we better get back home so that's what we did. While she was sitting on the couch, she got the overwhelming urge to "toss her cookies" and looked as pale as a ghost. She decided to take a shower and go lay down. She came back downstairs and told me we should get back in the car and drive around some more because her contractions stopped and she wanted them to come back. I told her I wasn't driving all around town just so she could go into labor. (Maybe if gas wasn't $2.49 a gallon I would). She went up to bed around 8:30pm but stayed up watching tv until about 10:30pm. I went to bed @ 10pm and didn't get a good restfull sleep thinking that at any moment she would come in and wake me up to take her to the hospital. Well, morning came and she went to work as usual today. Can you believe she's still working!!!??? She's a hair stylist and is on her feet more than off of all of her shifts. I know she had a perm and a hair color scheduled for this morning so she wasn't going to just sit and wait for a walk-in hair cut to do. Tonight is a full moon AND the lunar eclipse so MAYBE that will have an impact on her delivering. Today is also my Neice's 30th birthday. That would be cool if my Daughter gave birth on her cousin's Birthday. (If you're reading this Serenity...Happy Birthday!!!). I imagine that at any moment of the day (or night) this weekend, Heather will go into labor and I'll have good news to report.
Until then, I'm still not able to log in the "proper way" with blogger and hope my good friend Fraidy doesn't mind me stopping by her blog to comment about nothing just so I can sign in that way. I have tried everything imaginable to figure out what's up with Blogger. I'm now trying to find a way to contact someone by email to get some answers, but haven't been successful there either.
I hope that everyone out there is having a great weekend.

Blogger is on my last nerve!
It's not fun when you can't complete a simple task. I had to go to another blog to post a comment JUST to get signed in because the blogger dashboard page is all screwed up over here. I click on the help links to find answers to my problem and I'm not getting anywhere. I've added google and blogger to the "allowed" sites like one of the help links said. I've deleted cookies...added cookies...rebooted and NONE of it works. What good is a help site if none of it works???? Oh well, guess I'll be taking a long break from posting and maybe by the time I have some important news to post about, it will be fixed!!
